Automatic
Sheet & Blank Feeders
Prime's
main business is double metal detection.
It's at the very top of our expertise.
You may refer to these products as Double
Blank or Double Sheet Detectors. If
there is any doubt, they are one and
the same, at least as far as Prime is
concerned. As simple and as straight
forward as you might think this solution,
there are many things to consider. The
shape, curvature, holes, type of metal,
method of conveying are just a few of
the considerations
when specifying a Double Metal Detector.
That is why it is best to review some
of our solutions to different sheet
and blank feeders.
We suggest.

Double
End and Missing Tab Detection
High
speed conversion of metal can ends to
easy open tabs is a unique operation.
This is a progressive operation where
a rivet is formed, tab is insert over
the rivet, and the rivet is closed in
several progressive stations. Press
speeds approach 700 strokes per minute.
Prime has a dual responsibly to make

we provide two detectors in one package
that has six output combinations.

Gasket
Lamination Detector
Engine
head gaskets are made of laminated metal.
This application is difficult because
the cross sectional size of the target
is small and is made up of different
metals. The metals are steel, magnetic
and nonmagnetic stainless steel. The
customer needs to know if one or more
of the metal laminations are missing
from the stack. There are many different
combinations that the gaskets are made
up of, on the same machine. We are able
to offer several detectors . Our
solutions.

Foil
Package Count Detector
Prime
spends most of its time in the
metal forming & stamping industry
scouting for metal thickness problems
to solve. But the following note is
an application which demonstrates broader
capabilities for our products. It was
brought to us by a customer in the packaging
industry. They needed to monitor the
number of aluminum foil packages in
two different boxes. Prime's
solution.

Stitch
Detector for Steel
Some
steel suppliers provide low cost steel
coils to plants by recovering out-of-specification
or damaged prime metal. This provides
substantial savings to steel users who
are able to overcome the flaws. Those
savings are as much as 75%. We
had opportunities to solve problems
created by this product. Find

Packaged
Bulb
Base Orientation
Recently,
one of our distributors presented this
application problem. His customer wanted
to detect the orientation of a bulb-base
in a paper sleeve. If the base is positioned
to the wrong side there is potential
for damage. A second bulb loaded from
the opposite side, will try to occupy
the same space and break one or both.
Prime solved his problem. Read
