Model SM10, Selector Module Expands Model DS1520 to 10 memory applcations Optional SM10 Selector Switch Installation The SM10 Selector Switch Module comes as a kit designed to mount against the inside of the door or side panel of an industrial enclosure. The SM10 kit contains the following items: 1. knob 2. switch module 3. legend plate 4. two 10-32 stainless steel screws 5. pressure sensitive labels
Three holes are required for mounting; a 0.375 inch (9.5 mm) diameter switch shaft bore and two 0.220 inch (5.6 mm) diameter mounting holes. The mounting holes are located one inch off center on opposite sides of the switch shaft hole. The legend plate may be used as a template for locating and sizing these holes.
Pressure sensitive adhesive on the back side of the legend plate provides a means of firmly attaching the plate to an enclosure wall or door. Use the two #10 screws provided to attach the switch module to the inside of the enclosure with the terminal block at the top.
The SM10 Selector Switch Module requires a three wire connection to the DS1520 control module. For short runs of only a few feet, run wires between the terminals of the same names on the DS1520 and SM10 (AUXIN, COM, and AUXO). For longer runs, use three wire shielded cable and connect the shield drain wire to the COM terminal of the DS1520.
If after power-up with the SM10 newly installed, the DS1520 displays alternately "SL" and "CA", simply rotate the selector switch through all of its 10 positions, stopping at each position for at least a half second. The control memorizes the code for each position of the selector switch. This switch calibration need only be done once after installation, if at all.
