Models
CBL101-3, CBL101-6,
The
Model CBL101 consists of a small micro-style
connector molded to a three or six meter long
cable. The cable is jacketed in a PVC (polyvinyl
chloride) sleeve that contains a twisted pair
of wires. Foil wrapped around the pair is
used for electromagnetic shielding. This is
typically connected to the common of the detector
chassis to provide a means to bypass ambient
electrical noise from the sensitive detector
circuit. It also extends the maximum separation
between probe and detector to in excess of
50 meters. The Model CBL101 operates only
with detectors designed since 1992. These
detectors generate the signal internally and
do not use the coil as part of the circuit.
Drift in older detectors is attributed
to the probe element changing impedance when
externally heated or cooled. This causes the
signal to change its' characteristics. The
combination of the CBL101 with any of Primes'
new detectors virtually eliminated this problem.
The new detectors are Models DS150, DS1500-DS1522,
SD200-SD206.
The
last number in the Model number of the cable
refers to the length of cable in meters. (3
= 3 meters), (6=6 meters) Maximum length from
detector to probe with this twisted pair cable
is in excess of 50 meters.

Models
CBL100-3, CBL100-6,
CBL100
is used on detectors designed prior to 1992.
The third red wire is used as feedback when
the probe element is used as part of the signal
generation. All P1, P15 and P70 families require
the CBL100 when used with older DS10, DS33,
DS34, DS35, DS37, and DS38
This
cable/connector may substitute for the CBL101
if necessary. It does not have a twisted pair
and does not provide the same noise reduction
as the CBL101. Maximum length from detector
to probe is 15 meters.
